About Monica

Monica Marterella,  M.S., LMFT-S, LPC-S graduated from Texas A&M University in 1992 and received her Masters in Family Therapy from Texas Woman's University in 2006. Monica is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. My experience enables me to offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychological care. I treat a number of mental health/behavioral issues and work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. 


I am an in-network provider with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tricare, and MHN

I am also Telemental Health Certified and authorized to provide video sessions.

Treatment Focus

My goal is to help individuals heal, grow, and use their strengths to move forward in life. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. I am experienced in working with families, couples, adults, and adolescents. Some specific areas of focus I am familiar with are adolescent issues, anxiety, depression, grief, medical/health concerns (as both a patient and caregiver), and relationship concerns.

Family Counseling

Family dynamics can often be challenging, whether you have a traditional or non-traditional family, I can help. Family counseling provides an opportunity for everyone to openly talk about their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. Some common family ares of focus are:

Parent-child conflicts
Family communication problems
Defiant, angry, or isolated teens
Grief and issues of loss
Transitions after divorce or separation
(I Do Not Provide Forensic Services)

Couples

Couples counseling is beneficial to those interested in improving their relationships ~ even those not currently experiencing any major problems. I have experience with a diverse range of couples from various racial, ethnic, and spiritual backgrounds. Couples can be married or dating. I assist couples with:
Communication
Financial disagreements
Infidelity
Trust issues
Premarital, Pre-commitment counseling
